Elected to the United States Senate in 2012, Senator Elizabeth Warren is recognized as one of the nation's top experts on bankruptcy and the financial pressures facing middle class families. In the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis, Senator Warren served as Chair of the Congressional Oversight Panel for the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP), and she is often credited for the creation of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. She recently teamed with Republican Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley on a bipartisan bill that passed the Senate 94-1 aimed at providing consumers more flexibility and lower cost options when purchasing hearing aids.
In addition to her accomplishments as an elected official, Senator Warren is a prolific author, including hundreds of articles and ten books – four of which were national best-sellers. Senator Warren was also a law professor for more than 30 years, including nearly 20 at Harvard Law School, and she has been recognized twice with Harvard’s Sacks-Freund Award for excellence in teaching.
