Position Summary
The Operational Risk Management Department (ORM) is responsible for the direction, oversight, and reporting of compliance and operational risk management activities throughout the bank to comply with requirements established by the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) and Bank policy. ORM provides tools and guidance to ensure business lines comprehensively and accurately identify, measure, monitor, and control operational risks and comply with applicable regulations and policies.
This position is responsible for supporting Senior Analysts, the Compliance Manager, the Operational Risk Manager, and the Director of Operational Risk Management in executing the mission of the department through activities which implement policies and procedures or monitor and report on compliance and operational risk management throughout the Bank.
This role will have a hybrid work schedule in our Boston office in accordance with the Bank’s Hybrid Work Program. More time will be expected in the office to support onboarding initially.
Anticipated Pay Range
The anticipated base pay range for this role is $62,050 - $94,900. This role is classified as non-exempt.
This role is based in Boston with weekly in-office expectations. The base pay posted represents the annual base pay range or hourly wage range that we expect to offer for this job opportunity. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including relevant experience, required skills and other relevant factors. The range noted here is not indicative of all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.

Specific Responsibilities
- Build awareness of the Bank’s risk management framework through effective communication and training.
- Collect and analyze data to create risk metric reporting for the Operational Risk Committee, Management Committee, and Board of Directors.
- Monitor and track organizational compliance with governance requirements for internal policies, documenting updates, reviews, and applicable board approvals.
- Maintain and update the regulatory inventory to ensure all applicable laws, directives, and requirements are current, and accurately reflected and assigned to Bank staff as owners.
- Assist in batch screening and documenting screenings against sanctions listings, such as Office of Foreign Asset Control, Specially Designated Nationals, and the FHFA’s Suspended Counterparty Program.
- Review and analyze newly issued or amended regulations to assess operational impact and support interpretation for internal stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain compliance matrices to support gap analysis, control mapping, and preparation for testing activities.
- Maintain associated databases and systems used for departmental activities.
- Coordinate, analyze, and report on the results of prospective operational risk-related surveys with business units.
- Support the completion of business unit-specific risk and control self-assessments and annual enterprise assessment reviews.
- Work with the Compliance Manager, the Operational Risk Manager and the Director, Operational Risk Management to establish independent risk measurement, monitoring and reporting processes throughout the Bank.
- Assist in the development of new operational risk management standards, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations, advisory bulletins, and overall corporate guidance on risk activities.
