Job Description
Catholic Charities seeks a dynamic, detail-oriented individual to lead our efforts to strengthen and expand funding partnerships with private foundations and corporations. Working closely with senior leadership and program staff, she/he will provide agency-wide leadership for a comprehensive institutional giving program. This position will be responsible for maintaining and growing the pipeline of institutional donors, cultivating, and stewarding current and new funders, as well as writing proposals and reports.  




RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage and grow a portfolio of foundations and corporate funders with the capacity to make grants of at least $50,000. 
Lead a process for identifying new foundation and corporate prospects; cultivate relationships with foundation staff; write letters of inquiry and concept papers.  
Work collaboratively with senior leadership and program staff to identify and create and identify new funding opportunities. 
Conduct donor visits including qualification visits and making direct solicitations. Strategically partner with CCAB leadership and program staff on such visits and prepare and execute pre-meeting strategy and post meeting follow up. 
Develop and implement prospect funder strategies including the cultivation of qualified prospects; determining the amount and timing of requests, writing, and managing the writing of proposals; providing the verbal and written communication needed to secure the gift and delivering appropriate stewardship and reporting of grants made.  
Ensure the creation and maintenance of accurate and timely information in Raiser’s Edge including foundation and corporate research reports, proposal and reporting due dates and cultivation and stewardship activities. 
Mentor and supervise the work of the Institutional Giving Officer(s).
Coordinate with the finance office and program directors to develop proposal budgets and reports; monitor accountability for the fulfillment of grant obligations. Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality  
Attendance at meetings and trainings 
Local travel as needed 
Other duties as assigned 

 QUALIFICATIONS 

Bachelor's degree required with at least six to eight plus years of progressively responsible fundraising experience 
Demonstrated success in writing grant proposals, letters of inquiry and reports to foundation and corporate funders; ability to synthesize program concepts into compelling proposals and reports 
Experience with building a pipeline of institutional donors 
Proven ability to develop and implement a program of donor cultivation and stewardship  
Self-motivated, ability to manage multiple priorities with excellent attention to detail and deadlines; ability to perform successfully without close supervision. 
Very strong verbal and written communications skills, organizational and analytical skills and project management skills 
Proven ability to build and manage a highly effective team
